New York, NY
The design focused on the issues of control and letting go, on materiality, and on how the space could best serve the people using it. Creating personal space, relieving or building tension, and achieving balance were important considerations. The office became a kind of stage set for human dynamics. How to use the space, how to achieve harmony in interaction, and how to facilitate productive work required research. In the end, resolving issues of concern to the people working in the office also served the company’s desire for a new office demonstrating professionalism and elegance.
