SANGHA: Town Hall

Suzhou, China

Sangha, a pedestrian oriented live-work-learn community focused on helping people learn to live well (physically, emotionally, and socially), is a 46-acre development located on Yangcheng Lake, a UNESCO world heritage site on the periphery of Suzhou, China, that features single-family residences, apartments, hotels, a medical clinic, an East/West wellness center, a food hall and food markets, a conference/learning center, a childhood learning center, and an innovation gallery among numerous other components.

One of Sangha’s key components is its Town Hall, an expansive, column-less space designed to flexibly accommodate all sorts of community programs. The Town Hall has an occupancy capacity of 600 people (400 for dining). On each of the hall’s triple-height perimeter walls are 16-foot-tall LED screens; these interactive screens allow users to customize their environment by picking images appropriate for different events, be it a gala or conference. There is a full complement of A/V technology for conferences, parties and community meetings.
